Noddy Virtue spreads Christmas cheer

Recording artiste Noddy Virtue is spreading cheer in this Yuletide season with the track ' A Very Merry Christmas'.

Written and produced by Paul 'Patchy' Wright on the Island Yard Productions label, the track was released on November 26.

"The Christmas season is very special to me, growing up in Jamaica. So, when Patchy wrote this song I went straight to recording it and it was such a pleasure," the St Elizabeth native said of the track that speaks of unity, peace, and joy.

Adding that the feedback has been "amazing with lots of love", Virtue revealed that he is working on more original content instead of covers - that he is traditionally known for - as well as an album with Wright. It is to be released in 2026.

"I took a little time away from the music, but I am back now and I will be dropping my new album early next year and these are all original music," he said. As for the new track, Virtue has higher expectations.

"Ihope that this song can reach people and [that] they can find joy and uplift them in spite of everything that they are facing," he said, referring to the ongoing rebuilding efforts following the passage of Hurricane Melissa in late October.

He added, "The song has a strong meaning, it's like a prayer, offering words of encouragement."

The entertainer is also extending well-wishes to his supporters.

"To my fans, Noddy Virtue loves you and you can look for more music to come," he said.
